WORDS THAT BURN release blistering new single ‘Fire At Will’

by Vjeran

The Irish Alt/Post-Metalcore crew will release their latest single, ‘Fire At Will’ on June 30th ahead of their live date in Dublin’s Academy with American Metalcore titans, As I Lay Dying on August 9th.

Having recently signed to Blood Blast Distribution / Believe for their last single ‘You’re on Your Own’ [listen here], the five-piece are excited to preview another slice from their mammoth new album, which is due for release in early 2023.

Speaking of the new single, vocalist, Roni Vox says: “The song is about being pissed-off, but feeling like to have to apologise for expressing how you feel when its a perfectly natural thing. If you dont like something or if you disagree with someones point of view, you can be facing the firing squad should it be taken, willingly or not, out of context – so its kinda like having to immediately recoil after you say something that doesnt fit other peoples narrative or viewpoint…..right or wrong!
m not even talking about political conversation, because honestly, Im not really that political myself. It could be about music or art or movies, or beer, or cars, or sport – anything can be seen (or taken) as an attack, which to me is a weird knee-jerk reaction regarding things that are, for the most part, subjective.
s healthy to express how you feel. Its not healthy for someone you dont know to make you feel bad about it when maybe, they dont (or dont want to) understand where it is coming from. So, I guess what Im trying to say is I dont think anyone should be held at gun point for expressing themselves, even if they are not necessarily being positive in that particular moment in time.

Despite the disruption over the last two years, due to the pandemic, Words That Burn  completed their third studio album under the watchful eye of producer/engineer Josh Schroeder [King 810, Lorna Shore] before taking to the stage at Bloodstock Open Air for their debut UK performance in August 2021 for their UK debut. The band will be performing with As I Lay Dying in Dublin’s Academy on August 9th with more shows to be announced very soon.
