VOODOO KISS sign with Reaper Entertainment

by Metal Jacket

After the comeback now the record deal!

In the mid-nineties, four music enthusiasts in the Ostalbkreis area of southern Germany set out to put their musical visions into practice. So in 1995 the starting signal was given for the Hard ‘n’ Heavy band VOODOO KISS, which after an initial change of singers and hard work in the rehearsal room was soon drawn to the stage.

In the first four years after the band was founded, VOODOO KISS succeeded in making an excellent name for themselves regionally with thrilling live shows. In addition to numerous club shows, several festival appearances followed; in the Ostalbkreis area, the band achieved local cult status with their commitment. But VOODOO KISS wanted more. Due to a lack of reasonable alternatives, drummer Achim Ostertag and a few friends organized their own festival in 1997, which VOODOO KISS successfully played as the main act: The Summer Breeze Open Air in Abtsgmünd.

On the occasion of the 25th Summer Breeze anniversary the cult band from the Ostalbkreis reunited in the original instrumental line-up. Reinforced by a microphone professional, the exceptional singer Gerrit Mutz, the debut album is now finally recorded, on which, in addition to Mutz, Steffi Stuber (among others Mission In Black, Voice Of Germany) will contribute vocals. With Reaper Entertainment, an experienced label has also directly taken on the band. Flori Milz from the label has been known for a long time, he has already seen some concerts of VOODOO KISS and did not have to think long with his business partner Greg Rothermel; the label is – just like the band – on fire!

Achim Ostertag comments: “After more than 20 years of radio silence, the last few weeks have been hit after hit. The deal with Reaper Entertainment and the enthusiasm of Flori and Greg pushed us and the exceptions to the debut album even further. We’re super excited to be part of the Reaper family from now on.”

Flori Milz adds: “When Achim told me about his plan to revive Voodoo Kiss, I didn’t have to think for a second. After all, I also grew up in the Ostalbkreis area, was part of the local metal scene and saw the band at the first Summer Breeze Festival. Releasing the album is a matter of the heart for me. It makes me happy to be part of this extraordinary story!”

The self-titled debut album will be released on CD, vinyl and digital on Aug. 19, 2022. More info coming soon. Stay tuned!
