Stimulans: Quarantine Story

by Vjeran

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Today, Mario from band Stimulans, shares with us his story.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Hello! So far so good.

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
We postponed gig in Split Circus at begining of this outbreak. That was the weekend right after the gig in Red Lion pub, and now we feel sorry that we didnt go for it. We were working on geting into one fest outside of Croatia, but its stupid to talk about things that could or could not be.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Due the restrictions that is implied upon people. It pretty much impacted so many band/musicians as the majority of us makes living out of music so with the cancelation of so many gigs it’s gonna be quiet rough for so many of us.

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
Well we keep them locked in the cages, and force them watch our youtube channel. Haha. We are in this together. We start to play because we love to, but knowing somebody loves what you playing pushes you even more. Its a feeding machine. One feeds another. Symbiosis. Its well known among metal world, band and fans are one, and its called METAL.

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
Metal will always stay metal the rest is in our hands

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
We are all in this together as we are one line that connect to the other Where we go one, we go all.

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Queensrÿche – Revolution calling.

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine?
If yes, how do they look like? Unfortunately we didn’t have Only home practicing, but we cant wait till we get back to it.
