In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Francesco, Tiziano & Niccolò guitarist shares his Corona experience with us today.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Francesco (Guitar) – Hello Metal Jacket Team, surely it is not an easy period but the commitment we dedicate to our project since 2013 certainly helps us a lot and we hope it will also involve our fans.

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
Francesco (Guitar) -During the lockdowns we inevitably had to interrupt our rehearsals and some live shows but despite everything we always managed to carry on the project in a constant way.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Tiziano (Drum) – We have a Baltic mini-tour freezed since 2020, recently, we had to cancel three live shows in two months due to Coronavirus which affected us directly. We have also a new single to be launched, we are still struggling to close the related videoclip.

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
Tiziano (Drum) – Fortunately we could perform some live shows, Live direct on Facebook, from our private rehearsal studio even during quarantine period. During lockdown we produced some videos concerning merchandise, we published some extracts and so on… We never stopped our activities, always trying to be in touch with our fans and followers.

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
Tiziano (Drum) – Surely the “machine” is re-starting very slowly. People are still struggling to go out in the live club but in the other side we, as musicians, are struggling to perform live. Hoping that, once the pandemic will finish definitively, people will start to go out and live Live Clubs as a second house, no matter who’s performing.

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
Tiziano (Drum) – As far as we could see all of us are suffering the same way. Shows canceled or postponed due to covid or restrictions, Live Clubs closed definitively. Too much bands pretending to perform and few Clubs remained. It’s a very hard situation, we all have to resist and persist, Metal will never die.

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Niccolò (Bass) – During the days of lockdown, I have listened again to many of the records in my collection. If I had to choose one in particular, it would be “Station” by Russian Circles, whose sounds have been able to lull and soothe my mind.

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
Niccolò (Bass) – Besides live gigs and rehearsals with the band, one of the things I missed most during the lockdown was the freedom to be able to go out, see friends, family, and people I love. I believe that for us musicians, being with people is a fundamental part of the creative process, and without it, we would lack the drive we need to make music.

Do you have any rehearsals during? If yes, how do they look like?
Tiziano (Drum) – Excluding the two months of total lockdown, we’ve been able to continue our rehearsals during this two years, excepting in case of Covid affected us. As mentioned before we also performed some live sessions. Surely was an uncommon atmosphere, we had to respect the curfew (not every time but….you know). It has been an hard game, but we managed it.

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
