In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Troy Spiropoulos (lead vocals/bass) shares his Corona experience with us today.
Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Doing well. Thank you
What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
Nothing. We continued to play outdoor concerts and are now performing at indoor venues around Southern California.
How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Some cities are locked down so bands aren’t playing as frequently as they would. Its also created problems within bands due to the political nature and which side your on.
How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
Recording new music, promoting it, and distributing directly through our website.
What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
The same as it was before. Most songs will be written regarding opinions on the pandemic.
Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
I imagine anyone in the hospitality/entertainment industry who didn’t have educational backgrounds providing them economic opportunities.
What is your isolation soundtrack?
The eagles – Hotel california, The Verve – Storm In Heaven
Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
We still did outdoor shows regularly and kept rehearsing regularly so it didn’t effect us that badly.
Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine?
Yes and they went very well. Everyone enjoyed playing.
