Some of the characters the cosplayers embody are coming from anime, cartoons, comic books, movies, TV series and videogames. This year as well, Sunday is reserved for a family day, with the performances of magician Andrej Škedel and Fiery majorettes. Two creative workshops for kids will be held, for which, we are opening applications on the webpage of Rijeka Tattoo Expo very soon, but openings are limited. Those who wish to beautify themselves without getting a permanent tattoo will be able to do so, so the convention will also have the options of henna countouring or face paint. Throughout all three days of the convention, we will also have a Beauty Corner where you can get different cosmetic services and have “afro” braids done on your hair. Besides the active part of the programme, convention also has the exhibition, rich with over 25 different exhibitors of handicrafts – clothes, fashion accessories, jewellery, sculptures, and unique gifts. Tattoo artists and tattoo lovers will be able to complete their collections on a professional tattoo equipment stand held by Carantania Tattoo Croatia, coming from Zagreb.
For several years now, Rijeka Tattoo Expo helps those in need through an action of donation, done in collaboration with Kostrena Municipality, Ulitity company Kostrena, and Tourist Board of Kostrena Municipality. A small male hairsalon Wolf is joining the action this year, which will offer both beard and hair grooming services during the convention, and all amounts collected will be donated for purchasing the books for the school library of Elementary School Kostrena, especially those books needed for required school reading according to the new curriculum. It will be possible to participate in donation action by slipping money into donation boxes which will be kept in the hall area.
For all those wanting more of the good time and fun, two “after parties” will be held in the evening hours. On Friday, 22nd November, visitors will be entertained by street trio Pachamama Street Connection, while on Saturday 23rd November, Purple Trio band will play numerous local and foreign rock hits. In the late evening hours, music scene will be usurped by DJ J-Zlo.
Getting a tattoo on the Convention
And yes, you can get a tattoo on the Convention! All arrangements and making an appointment are made in advance, directly with the chosen tattoo artist (the list of artists is available here) or during the convention. So, it is possible to come to the convention and make an appointment if some of the artists are available, however our warm recommendation is to do so well in advance.
