For this week’s Sleazy Sunday I’ll talk about Sleaze Fest in Bochum, Germany, an amazing event that’s been happening for five years now. I know I’m a bit late but… Oh well!
It all started back in 2015 and since then it has grown into a cult festival for all young sleaze and glam bands. It has got a great following from all over the world and that is especially shown this year with bands from South Africa – L.A. Cobra and the USA – Wildstreet being on the bill.
Needless to say, the event was sold out!
It was a whole day event with all starting at 12.30 with doors opening and the first band to hit the stage were Raging Dead at 13.00 followed by L.A. Cobra and LIPZ with the setlist lasting 45 minutes each.
Next on were Trench Dogs, Pretty Wild, The Cruel Intentions and Wildstreet each playing for an hour.
Headliners and the last band to play at this year’s Sleaze Fest were non others then the sleaze legends Crashdïet. According to them, this was probably the longest show they’ve ever done with 19 songs being played along with some rarities and a brand new song “Rust”.
The highlight of the event was probably during Crashdïet’s last song when members of all other bands joined them on stage to sing along to the anthemic ”Generation Wild”!
Sleaze Fest organiser Bazzty Sleaze (Basti Scholz) has posted the following message on Facebook about the event:
Holy macaroni, what a night. As always I am overwhelmed by all of you guys. I thought a sold out festival in 2018 was great, but this year you killed it all.
This venue was not set on fire, it was burned down to the ground. So many kind words, so many offers of free beer and booze ( sorry if I rejected almost everyone, but if I‘d had done this… I would have been the first to kiss the floor 😀)
I‘d like to thank everyone of you guys for amazing 5 years with up‘s and down‘s, but the last 2 years just showed that the scene is still alive and louder than ever before.
A very special thanks to my 2 special guests at Sleaze Fest L.A Cobra and Wildstreet. It was a deep pleasure to have this guys coming all the way from New York and South Africa. It was not easy at all for both bands, since they had to build a European tour around that date, but they made it.
As always I am super happy that you guys appreciated that Sleaze Fest also stands for supporting unknown bands, and that you even celebrated our opening Act Raging dead as if there was Crashdiet on stage, it means the world to this 4 Italian stallions.
I guess I do not have to mention all the other great acts that you have been partied with so hard yesterday.
Thank you so much, you made this festival!

See you all soon and until then, keep your hair up and rock on!
