On August 24th and 25th, the Dark Circle Festival opens its dark doors and with a small adaptation of the name brings two world-famous headliners and 28 bands from Croatia and worldwide. At an attractive location, the abandoned factory Hartera, bands from Ireland, Sweden, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and Croatia will perform on the darkest festival in the Balkans: Core Of Creation, Decomposing Entity, Defiant, E.N.D., Kymera, M’Burns, Omnivore, Sailing To Nowhere, Sufosia, Theories Divide, ThroaTTwister, Wolves Within, Zenoth and Zvijer.
Belphegor is playing on Dark Circle Festival to promote their new album, “Totenritual”, released 15th September 2017. Their performance comes with “special diabolical Ritual Show” and with impressive stage setup. Belphegor’s precisely played sound collages and intense visual performance will leave a lasting impression.
For the first time in Croatia, legendary death metal band The Crown will headline for Dark Circle Festival! With their ferocious attack from far-away Sweden, they will promote the latest and excellent long-awaited album “Cobra Speed Venom”. The fans of this fantastic band will also be treated with some old hits of the band and satisfy all fans of true death metal. Band that is also famous in metallized punk, crust and of course metal will surely bring the fifth edition of the darkest festival on Balkan to its glory.
Dark Circle Festival (Dark “O” Metal Fest) is a summer festival dedicated to metal music organized by the Ri Rock Association. The festival gives an emphasis to the most heaviest notes of alternative music. The festival was created in 2014 in response to the poor summer offer of alternative events in the City of Rijeka and the lack of a quality Croatian metal festival. Organizers as enthusiasts of this genre, with the help of bands and various collaborators, made a quick move and in just a month organized a metal festival named (Dark “O”) Dark Circle Metal Fest. The festival has had 4 editions until now, and with each one, it is growing and expanding its offer.
In celebration of its fifth anniversary, the festival returns to its roots and sets the name “Dark Circle Fest” as its official name. The in the name of the festival was always representing “Circle”, which marks the dark circle of fans of rough music. The popular name “Darko” still remains as a nickname for the festival.
Along with this change, the festival will prove its turn to the roots by returning to month August, more precisely on Friday and Saturday – 24th and 25th 2018. The organizers promised that the festival will grow for another step up and open its doors to even more visitors.
In addition to the well-known stage called Dark Stage, this year we present another stage called Chaos Stage, which will include performances of 14 bands in 2 days: Dickless Tracy, Disbaja, Eho, Emphasis, Iamdiesease, Inverted Pussyfix, Krlja, Left To Starve, Lord Drunkalot, Mamut, Negative Slug, Omega Sun, Reverse Gangbang and Shin.
Four stages, a multitude of entertainment programs, free transportation to the beach, cheaper train tickets, camp, attractive post-apocalyptic location, video projection and decoration, glam after party, fun games, low prices of food and drinks, big and interesting merch, and over thirty well-chosen bands are the perfect invitation for all the lovers of fiery notes to complete the summer at the Dark Circle Festival, which is still proud to hold the most affordable price for the festival ticket.

Customers will get a QR code that can easily be downloaded to a smartphone and show (with a personal ID) at the festival entrance and get the festival bracelet. There will also be a QR code that will lead to the festival’s schedule. Purchased tickets do not need to be printed. With this move, festival wants to awaken environmental awareness and reduce the use of paper and unnecessary creation of additional waste.
