In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. From the Dark Woods in Norrland, Harmdaud creator Andreas Stenlund gives us his vision of current situation.
Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Hi Metal Jacket!
Well, we manage. Up in the north of Sweden things has so far been quite under control. Except that everybody suddenly stocked up toilet paper. So, that was quite hard to find for a while.
What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
Nothing so far.
How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
This is of course a big hit for the music Industry, and specifically the live part. We see not a touring band, but i have several friends that have had their shows cancelled. And, for many of them ticket fees and merch / CD sales is a big part of the income.
How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
I keep contact by social media.
What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
Better! Metal always grow stronger from a challenge. This will unite us in new ways.
Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers
I don’t know really, we all suffer.
What is your isolation soundtrack?
Summoning and Behemoth has gone around a lot.
Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
I miss going to gigs!
Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
Me and my producer haven’t had the chance to meet in person so we have worked online on the new stuff.
Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
