The year is 1989. Early summer. I’m driving my Corvette C4 along the coast of Los Angeles with all the windows down blasting some Crazy Lixx and the view pretty similar to what you see in Baywatch.
‘’Forever Wild’’ starts with a bang! Wicked is a classic hard rocker and a tune to expect from Crazy Lixx followed by Break Out and Silent Thunder which are an instant 80’s rock radio hits and a badass tune called (She’s Wearing) Yesterday’s Face.
Eagle… well, that’s something new from Crazy Lixx camp and I’m pretty satisfied with what I hear. Any 80s’s music lover and especially Europe fans will dig this one a lot.
Crazy Lixx have always been able to write incredible power ballads and “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” is definitely one of them.
If ‘’Forever Wild’’ started with a bang than I’ve got to say it ended with an even bigger bang. “Never Die (Forever Wild)” is a song that literally gave me chills. The song finishes with an epic guitar duelling by Chrisse Olsson and Jens Lundgren and is probably the best one on this album. I’m not sure how long my replay button will be able to take it. 🙂
Even though it’s not 1989 and I don’t own Corvette and I’m not in L.A. and Crazy Lixx have only been around since 2002, one thing is for sure. This album is an epic piece of music from start to finish. For everyone stuck in the 80’s, casual 80’s music lover or basically anyone who likes melodic rock, I highly recommend ‘’Forever Wild’’. I find it hard to think that any album to be released this year will top this one.
While this is more of an 80’s throwback than cracking a cold one with the boys in the backyard while listening to Eddie Money’s greatest hits collection, Crazy Lixx have also kept foot firmly planted in the 21st century.
Crazy Lixx, led by Danny Rexon are one of very few bands that can’t disappoint and with each album they show how talented they are. And yes, I’m gonna be one of those people and say that if they were around 30 or so years ago they would be one of the biggest names in the game.
Congratulations guys, you did it again!
