Finally! Looks like the criticism fired up by Tool’s new masterpiece has paid off and yet another inactive band started to move it’s toes. If you’re also obsessed with unique vocals, System Of A Down is surely a band you appreciate. We have an extraordinary chance to catch them live next year!
The band announced “the first of many shows in Europe next year”, returning to Finland where they’ll headline Provinssi festival on June 25th. They were also confirmed for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in Germany along with Green Day, Volbeat, Deftones, Weezer, Korn, Disturbed, Billy Talent, The Offspring, and more. This lineup looks crazy already, what a nostalgia-fest!
While the band have played a number of live shows over recent years, the wait for the follow-up to 2005’s Hypnotize continues. Sadly, we still can’t look forward to any new material from the band as it’s halted indefinitely by their creative and business disagreements. The band’s personal relationships are still faring well, hence the plentiful live shows.
Personally, I don’t care which band Serj is a part of, as long as he’s singing loud and proud. System Of A Down was actually the first metal band I’ve ever heard and I have only them to thank for pulling me in. Couldn’t have made it here without those guys, I sincerely hope I’ll be able to report you a smashing first row experience next year. Stay tuned as more tour dates are revealed, you have a trip to plan!
