There are bands that, throughout their career, are able to craft a sound that immediately identifies its creator. From release to release, no matter the amount of diverse elements the band might inject into their work, the final sound will always carry that mark.

Well-known by some, Drudkh is an excellent example of the aforementioned. I have been following this musical piece of art for years. They never cease to amaze me with every release. Not all are stellar pieces of musical perfection, but they all are marvellous expressions of our melancholic dead souls.

“Кілька рядків архаїчною українською (A Few Lines In Archaic Ukrainian)” is their new release. A compilation of recordings used in various Splits with other renowned bands (Grift, Hades Almighty and Paysage d’Hiver), now put together for our joy. Notice that all the lyrics used in every one of these songs were written by famous Ukranian poets, which comes to show the attention given to every single detail surrounding the construction of each album.

The sound is still the same, it is still Drudkh. This is the band that continuously keeps me living in this Eternal Autumn, this perpetual state of mind where the Cold and Death are the main forces of this weak and tedious living.

Poetic. Beautiful. Pastel colours. Drudkh is an entity above any other. It is remarkable the ability that this group of musicians has to deliver, time and time again, these little gems, these precious offerings.

For those who have had the pleasure to be in contact with such a magnificent project, you know what to expect; those that have never had the opportunity to dwell into this Eternal Autumn, do give it a go and let your mind the taken by the cold breeze and the colours of the dead, for only Death is certain, and Drudkh paints it well…
