Croatian fans had the honor to witness the concert of the L.A.’s finest heavy metal band called Armored Saint. This 5-piece band brought two hours of their fast- paced craftsmanship. Along with them as support on this unique show was Croatian well-known metal band called Flesh.
At around 21:30 first band on stage was Flesh. Although, I missed most of the show they did a great 40-minute job as a support act. Crowd was successfully warmed up for the highlight of the evening.
Right on time at 22:30, Armored Saint emerges on the foggy stage with an intense applause by the audience. They opened their set with “March of the Saint” and a hype spread across the venue. Next on the menu was song “Long Before I Die” from their second studio album “Delirious Nomad” and they continued with song “Chemical Euphoria” from their third album “Raising Fear”.
Frontman John Bush, was obviously overjoyed by the reception, thanked Croatian fans for showing up and introduced album “Symbol of Salvation” which was performed in its entirety. “Reign of Fire”, “Dropping Like Flies”, “Last Train Home” and “Tribal Dance” were highlights and the energy was at its highest. Band congratulated Croatia for their second place in the World Cup and John acknowledged Dino Rađa, Toni Kukoč and Dražen Petrović as one of the best basketballers in NBA history. Song “Another Day” was dedicated to early deceased Armored Saint guitarist Dave Prichard who took great part in writing this album. My favourite parts of the show were songs “Burning Question” and “Spineless” which are packed with thrash elements.
Encore was reserved for “Win Hands Down” , “Can U Deliver” and “Mad House”. Band thanked Croatian audience for their support and left the stage. This was not enough for fans, so band played “Nervous Man”. Band was obviously overjoyed by the reception and promised to return to Croatia as soon as possible.
