Quarantine story: ENEMYNSIDE

by Metal Jacket

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Read their Corona experience.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
We’re doing fine because no one in the band got the virus, but we’re afraid of this situation and how it will change the music industry in the next future.

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
We had some gigs booked on March/April/May between Italy and Spain. We will make up the gigs next year!

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Not having the chance to play live means the bands are not able to promote their music, especially the ones which released an album right before the coronavirus! We released our fourth effort “Chaos Machine” last year on October 25th, and after 3 months everything shut down!

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
We try to keep our social pages updated as much as we can but it’s not simple because we should have enough digital content to post. Usually we used to post live pics or stories concerning on-the-road stuff but being forced to stay at home doesn’t help to find new contents to share on our pages!

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
I don’t know, maybe way more aggressive? One thing for sure is that many bands like us spent a lot of time on the songwriting during and after the lockdown! So there will be a lot of new music on the way and I hope with great ideas and riffs!

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
Anyone has a professional role in the music.

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Annihilator, Megadeth, Heathen.

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
The afterparty once the gig is over 😀

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
We didn’t have the chance to play together during quarantine, the only thing we did was playing along the drum tracks our drummer recorded and sent to us. You can see how it looks like by watching the song “System Failure” posted last April 27th on our Fb page!

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
Thanx to you!
