Pathfinders: Quarantine Story

by Metal Jacket

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Pathfinders drummer Jérémy Barthélémy shares his Quarantine Story.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Hi! A little frustrated with the music scene in off mode and the closed festivals… But we are hopeful that it will come back quickly and in force! We will be there!

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
Actually nothing, we took the opportunity to compose, record our first album, and prepare for future scenes.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Until now this pandemic has not really impacted us, but now will come the time to find concerts and tours to promote this album, and there it will be a little more complicated. At least for now.

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
We shared a lot of content on our social networks such as live rehearsal for example, or the progress of the recording of the album point by point. We wanted our fans to feel a bit like they were with us.

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
We hope that people will be more present, excited that they haven’t been able to see any gigs all this time.

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
We think that we’re all in the same boat, unfortunately…

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Make them Suffer – Soul Decay
Periphery – Blood Eagle
In Flames – I, The Mask
Jinjer – I Speak Astronomy
Spiritbox – Holly Roller
Void of Vision – Decay

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
Sharing with the public, restaurants, pubs, museums …

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
We are lucky to be all from the same neighborhood, we have our studio, and we were able to rehearse without any problem.

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
