Osvajači empowered by guitar virtuoso Emir Hot

by Mislav Mihaljević

The Hard Rock veterans Osvajači (The Conquerors) from Kragujevac, Serbia, are celebrating 30 years of existence this year, and they have a new, exceptional guitarist within their ranks. Guitar virtuoso Emir Hot, born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a new member of the mentioned band.

Osvajači were formed in 1990, and the following year they recorded the famous debut album “Blood and Ice”, produced by the famous Laza Ristovski, who became the band’s occasional keyboardist.

They recorded six successful melodic Hard Rock albums, which brought them great popularity in Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Emir Hot was first recognized as a member of the band Southern Storm from Tuzla, and afterwards, he moved to London, UK to follow his musical path. Through the years, he became one of the most popular guitarists in the region, whose exceptional guitar playing, and musical potential has been confirmed in numerous collaborations, both international, and regional.

This recent story unfold itself at the beginning of 2020, when Emir Hot formally became a member of Osvajači. While preparing to record new songs, the band started to perform a planned series of live shows, but due to current pandemic, they unformtunately had to stop after performing in Novi Sad, and Aleksinac, Serbia.

Like most of musicians these days, Osvajači now only act online, and by distance. They decided  to take part in the “Od druga do druga”(“From One Friend To Another”) project, started by Macedonian musician Gogo Requiem (Georgi Gavrovski), so they recorded a custom version of their well known song “S kim čekaš dan.”

As announced from the band, as soon as isolation measures start to ease, and the restrictions are no more, Osvajači will record their first new single after a long discography break, and the continuation of the started concert series is expected as well.
