In a Facebook post, North Dakota doomers Egypt announced that they are disbanding. Aaron Esterby, singer and bassist, wrote the following post:
It’s with mixed feelings that I must announce that Egypt is done. I could sit here and cite some reasons, but those would be my reasons and would not represent the members of the band as a whole. So, I’ll keep them to myself.
I don’t have the words to express my gratitude to all of you for making what we did possible. We were able to do some incredibly cool things. Thank you.
I hope some of the songs made you feel something or reached you in some way. It sounds cheesy and lame, I know, but that’s really what it’s all about, isn’t it? Cheers and thank you all so much for everything.
Egypt were founded in 2003 by bassist/vocalist Aaron Esterby, guitarist Ryan Grahn and drummer Chad Heille. In their career, they published three full length albums: Become the Sun, Endless Flight and Cracks and Lines. Last summer they toured Europe making stops in Zagreb and Belgrade.
