Nightmare: Quarantine Story

by Metal Jacket

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Straight from Nightmares Yves Campion, speaks for Metal Jacket Magazine.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Well, pretty nice thank you, taking time to go back to basics and enjoy life at its true nature.

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
First we manage to record our new album called AETERNAM, it was not easy at all because of the „Corona shit“ situation but we really worked harder on the songs, the sound and the artwork . We had many gigs planned during the summer fest period, Russia, Germany, France, and also our release party in october and a tour with rahpsody of fire but it seems like verything is falling apart day after day…so only time will tell.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Stuck at home, no gigs, no money…and nowdays you CAN’T count on the sells to pay your bills.

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
Well, we shooted video clips, for AETERNAM and the very first single is now out! But people are in vacations during july so it seems like we will need some extra push in september to make them know that we’re still there 🙂

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
I don’t really know, I mostly think that many companies will not have the chance to go on I mean some promoters, venues, label. And it’s going to be really hard and harsh to get everyone back on their feet…everybody tries their best to keep going on the internet but social medias and non real life stuff will not help LIVE music in the end…or maybe we’re  gonna creat a NETFLIX of bands where you can choose the band you like and watch a different show each week…i don’t know.

What is your isolation soundtrack?
I’ve created a Spotify playlist with my ALL TIME FAV metal anthem you can check it out there: classX on spotify.

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
Nothing comes to my mind execpt gigs and road life…i can’t even remember how a venue smell like.

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
We are rehearsing right now, even if show are getting all cancelled we keep our souls alive and well, we have a brand new record to defend and we’re not gonna let it down !

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
