Necrophagia singer Frank “Killjoy” Pucci passes away at the age of 48!

On Sunday, the 18th of March, the official Necrophagia Facebook page shared the sad news of their vocalist and founders passing:
“We are so shocked and saddened to bring you the news of our dear brother Killjoy passing away this morning. We are at a loss for words. R.I.P brother you are forever in our hearts. We will cherish our moments together forever.”

Repulsions Scott Carlson commented on Pucci’s passing:
“Just heard the sad news that Killjoy of Necrophagia has gone into The Beyond. He and I began trading our band’s demos way back in 85 or so. He was a real sweetheart and a true aficionado of underground horror and music. Here’s a photo of Killjoy when they played with Repulsion and Septic Tank at the Garage in London a few years ago. Say hello to Lucio.”

Necrophagia counts as one of the first groups that started playing death metal as we know it today. The band was founded in 1983 by the late Frank Pucci. The bands first full length was released in 1987. bearing the name “Season of the Dead”.
