Home SceneInterviewsCorona Corner HOT SUNDAY BLOOD: QUARANTINE STORY

by Vjeran

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Italian band HOT SUNDAY BLOOD share their Quarantine Story.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Hello! We suffered a bit during the pandemic because we were forced to stay at home and that means no rehearsals… This had a negative impact on our production, of course!

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
We were unlucky enough so that our last record, Kein Licht, was published just a bit before the start of it all. We had all the presentation shows canceled and we played only one show since then.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
We think that more or less every band suffered something and all the same way, even the famous ones!

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
We began updating our social channels quite often, it was good to have some spare material to use!

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
In my opinion some things will go back to normal, many bands sadly will be no more, many others will emerge. And that’s not only for metal, but for every musical scene out there.
Music is relient.

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters
For the most part I think club owners, like all other “social” activities, are going to struggle a lot to survive…

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Every band member has its own let’s name Opeth, Katatonia, Soundgarden and Type O Negatyve.

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
Staying on the rehearsal room and composing our music is what we miss the most, absolutely.

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
As said, sadly no, nothing at all. Our rehearsal room closed down for theall whole pandemic period!

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
