Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Žedno uho will no longer to organize concerts and festivals after 22 years of activity. With more than thousand organized events, Žedno uho will remain in memory not just as one of the most productive music promotors in this region, but also as someone who anticipated upcoming happenings in the global music scene as a result of which Zagreb had an opportunity to witness little club concerts of many future world stars.

Thus, during first 10 years of this millennium through the cult student club KSET many “anonymous” performers have passed such as Caribou, The Mars Volta, The National, Okkervil River, Explosions In The Sky, Future Islands, Isis, Of Montreal, Calexico, Lambchop, Mouse On Mars, The Notwist, Liars, Amon Tobin, Kid Koala, Olafur Arnalds, M Ward and many other, today established, musicians.

At the same time, žednouho crew made a real little revolution with NO Jazz festival when it comes to jazz and improvisation, so the average age of visitors of jazz concerts, which was in Zagreb from the start of NO Jazz, was over 50 years. Already in first few years of the festival, the average age fell below 30 years, with almost half of the audience being the student population. Number of jazz greats, and not just of jazz music, because let’s not forget that NO was shortened for “not only”, who, thanks to this festival, visited Zagreb, include: Peter Brötzmann, Ken Vandermark, Dave Douglas, Vijay Iyer, Bill Frisell, Hamid Drake, Otomo Yoshihide, Nels Cline, Alexander Balanescu, The Necks, Rob Mazurek, Wayne Horwitz, Charles Gayle…

There is no more appropriate name to close the Žedno uho story than Montreal post-rock icons Godspeed You! Black Emperor. So don’t miss this ceremony on the 22nd of November because the most beautiful point possible will be put on this 22-year long story!
