Home SceneInterviewsCorona Corner FRAGMENT SOUL: QUARANTINE STORY

by Metal Jacket

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. Greek band FRAGMENT SOUL shares his Corona experience with us today.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Trying to remain as productive as possible. We’ve begun writing new material with our new vocalist for the next album.

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
We released our full length album “Axiom Of Choice” in May of 2021, and we’ve been waiting a long time to be able to perform live. Now that things are going back to normal, we’re excited to be able to do that soon.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Not being able to play shows has been a big problem, but thankfully that will change soon.

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
It’s been difficult since we’ve been unable to perform live, but the album was well received upon it’s release.

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
I think it will go back to normal and possibly be even better than it was before, people are very excited to hear live music again.

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
I think everyone suffers somewhat. I’ve seen a few venues nearby that have had to shut down due to the lack of activity. And musicians lose out on income if they can’t perform live. Once again, I think we’ll be seeing it make a comeback quite soon.

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Lots of metal! Katatonia, Draconian, Anathema… it differs every day.

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
It was hard not seeing my bandmates for many months.

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
Now that the restrictions have lifted, we’ve been able to get together in person to rehearse.

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
