Led by the great David Coverdale, Whitesnake will come to Zagreb’s ŠRC Šalata on the 3th of July, 2019 as part of the world tour “The Flesh And Blood”.
Whitesnake are a hard rock band formed in England in 1978 by David Coverdale, after his departure from his previous band Deep Purple. Their early material has been compared by critics to the blues rock of Deep Purple, but they slowly began moving toward a more commercially accessible rock style. By the turn of the decade, the band’s commercial fortunes changed and they released a string of UK top 10 albums, Ready an’ Willing (1980), Come an’ Get It (1981), Saints & Sinners (1982) and Slide It In (1984), the last of which was their first to chart in the US and is certified 2x platinum.
The band’s 1987 self-titled album was their most commercially successful worldwide, and contained two major US hits, “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”, reaching number one and two on the Billboard Hot 100. The album went 8 times platinum in the US, and the band’s success saw them nominated for the 1988 Brit Award for Best British Group. Slip of the Tongue (1989) was also a success, reaching the top 10 in the UK and the US, and received a platinum US certification. The band split up shortly after this release, but had a reunion in 1994, and released a one-off studio album, Restless Heart (1997).
They were officially reformed in 2002 and have been touring together since, releasing four albums, “Good to Be Bad” (2008), “Forevermore” (2011), “The Purple Album” (2015) and “Flesh And Blood” (2019).
Animal Drive will play as a support band. It is a young progressive hard rock band who are ready to be uncaged upon your ears! Originating from Zagreb, Croatia, the band was formed in 2012 by vocalist Dino Jelusic who is the primary writer and driving force to the band’s sound. More recently, Dino was chosen by the late Paul O’Neill to tour as a featured vocalist with the extravagant Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Joining Dino is the incredible guitarist Keller who releases a ferocious guitar attack onto the audience.
The thunderous Rökindja on bass and heavy hitting Zvone on drums completes the band’s vigorous sound. Influenced by bands such as Dream Theater, Whitesnake, and Skid Row, Animal Drive take their listeners on a wild ride of musical satisfaction. The band has signed with the internationally acclaimed Frontiers Records for a worldwide release. The debut album “Bite!” was released in February, 2018 and it was supported by many live performances all over the Europe. This year Animal Drive have released new EP entitled “Back To The Roots”.
So, don’t think too much! We all know about Dino’s great vocal abilities and we can expect a great show!
