Munich’s Backstage will host three amazing bands on the 7th of september. It will be blast!
In their South American homeland, the Goth-Death metallers Semblant are undoubtedly one of the most important and successful representatives of hard rock and are praised by the Brazilian media as one of the first vampire metal formations in the country. Led by two voices, the fantastic singer Mizuho Lin and her male counterpart Sergio Mazul, Semblant have made a name for themselves across the country’s borders with their mix of Goth and Melodic Death Metal. In April 2020 they will come to Munich with their third album “Obscura”.
In 2006, singer Sergio Mazul and keyboardist J. Augusto founded the Goth metal band Semblant in the 2 million city of Curitiba. The first years were marked by countless changes in musicians. Even after the release of the first album “Last Night Of Mortality” (2010) there were changes again. The singer Katia Shakath left the band. But with the arrival of the new Frontlady Mizuho Lin, a decisive step for the future was made. After numerous concerts all over Brazil, the septet produced “Lunar Manifesto” (2014), an album that was highly praised in the international metal scene. A trademark of the band is the extremely varied vocals. While the classically trained singer Mizuho Lin provides angelic vocal melodies, her colleague Sergio Mazul masters all genre facets from growling to aggressive Keif vocals to clean vocals. The third album by Semblant is finally due to be released in spring 2020. The fans had to wait a whole six years for a successor to “Lunar Manifesto”. With “Obscura” the band now wants to finally conquer the world and demonstrate their live qualities with a big tour. Friends of bands like Nightwish, Lacuna Coil or Evanescence should have a lot of fun with Semblant.
As I May is a four-piece modern melodic metal band from Mikkeli, Finland, formed in 2016. The group now consists of Tipi Nokelainen (vocals and bass), Lasse Hiltunen (scream vocals and guitar), Jani Valhola (backup vocals and guitars) and Marko Korhonen (drums).
As I May has since started to quickly gain ground in the Finnish heavy metal scene. The music’s soul lies within catchy melodies and big choruses as they combine modern elements, yet keeping the focus on the heavier side.
Secret Rule was formed at the beginning of 2014 with the intention to create a special sound with powerful rythmics and catchy melodies. The band is fronted by the powerful and crystal clear vocals of Angela Di Vincenzo (Kyla Moyl), masterminded by lead guitarist Andy Menario (Martiria) who has worked with big names such as Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio), Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Foreigner), and Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot). The line-up is completed most excellently by bassist Michele Raspanti (Graal) and, after different changes, by drummer Alex Beccati.
The Secret Rule shows are a concentrated of energy, a mix of heavy guitar riffs, with electronic elementes and incredible keyboard lines. A total impact between metal music and awesome melodies.
The band released three album: “Transposed Emotions” (2015), “Machination” (2016) and “The key to the world” (2017) the band has been building a solid fan base supported by their live activity and featured special guests like Aylin (Sirenia), Stefan Helleblad (Within Temptation), Henrik Klingenberg (Sonata Arctica), Timo Somers (Delain), Sander Zoer (Delain, Leah), Henning Basse (Mayan, Firewind).
