MetalDays 2019 @ Tolmin, Slovenia, 21.-27.7.2019
srpanj 21 - srpanj 27
Get ready for this year’s edition of the greatest metal holiday experience!
MetalDays 2019 is already at the door and last year’s fiesta still feels like it happened yesterday. Fully recovered, we can’t wait for another week-long extravaganza in the Slovenian Alps featuring some of the most acclaimed names in metal, accompanied by a selection of the best new and rising bands that have yet to amass a following.
Who is your favorite act this year? The most notable are Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Finntroll, Dopelord, Alien Weaponry, Dream Theater, Rotting Christ, Neurosis, Soilwork, Korpiklaani, Infected Rain, Tarja, Winterhorde and many more.
Tickets can still be purchased on the MH shop website and also from New Forces bands! They’re the up-and-coming bands that MetalDays works hard to promote, so they promote the festival in return. Check out the Facebook event discussion for info on which bands are selling tickets and how you can get your hands on them. One-day and three-day tickets are also available.
The festival “officially” starts on the 22nd of July, meaning that’s when all three stages will be in full power. The two days before that are the time to discover your new favorite band at New Forces stage. Early arrival at the festival site starts on the 19th of July, the perfect time to arrive and get settled in before the big action.
If you’re concerned about sustenance during this friendly mountain gathering, worry not. The choice of food and drink at the festival is always plentiful. You’ll have a chance to try countless craft beers from all around the world – or just stick to 90 cent Union cans from the nearby Hofer. Even if your diet is entirely plant-based, you won’t end up hungry. There will be several vegan food stands at multiple locations, as well as stands with delicious BBQ ribs and burgers for the less-vegan people. Having a barbeque party at your own camp is encouraged, as long as you keep it safe.
MetalDlDDaysayays isn’t your ordinary metal festival. Ecology is taken very seriously there, so be prepared to recycle your trash appropriately and clean your campsite when leaving. We’re all in this together! Note that you will be able to rent a tent this year if yours just broke at another festival when your drunk friend fell on it, but you will not be able to bring an electric generator with you, as those are extremely harmful to the environment, and there will be electrical outlets around the camp instead.
Join us at Tolmin for an unforgettable metal experience like no other. Start planning for next year too – this will become your favorite festival. Stay heavy!
