World famous American-Irish band, Flogging Molly is coming back this summer to Zagreb. We’ll get chance to see them live July 1st at Tvornica Kulture, Zagreb, as part of their tour Life Is Good.
Founded in 1997 in Los Angeles, Flogging Molly has always been pushing for its rigorous categorization of music. Their loud punk rock inspired by traditional Irish music with the addition of Celtic instruments brought them a seal of originality that got audiences on hook around the world. But, under the cheerful and crazy fun melodies, they have always drawn powerful, convincingly socially and politically insightful texts about the rebellion and the need for change that it associates with the cult Pogues and Clash.
Flogging Molly’s music is influenced by various artists, such as The Dubliners, The Pogues, Horslips, Johnny Cash, The Clash, and Green Day.
After 10 years they are back to Zagreb presenting their latest album of ‘Life Is Good’ (2017). Album ‘Life Is Good’ is their most recent and most optimistic work. The energetic sound of the album stems from today’s rare practice of recording a complete live album, making Flogging Molly once again demonstrated that they are primarily a live performance band. Great halls turn into pubs filled with dance, sweat and humor, and this is just such a fun and honest performance guaranteed in the Culture Factory. It will also be the anniversary of their first encounter with the Zagreb audience when they held a memorial concert 10 years ago.
