Deep Purple to perform in Belgrade in December

by Mislav Mihaljević

One of the most iconic hard rock bands ever, Deep Purple will perform in concert in Belgrade, on the 6th of December, 2019 in Štark Arena.

The England-based hard rock veterans, led by Ian Gillan, already performed a spectacular show in 2014 at the Arena in front of more than 10,000 fans.

The band will perform their most famous songs like “Smoke on the Water”, “Black Night”, “Hush”, “Highway Star”, “My Woman From Tokyo”, and others in the Arena. Two years ago, Deep Purple embarked on the “Long Goodbye” tour, which they planned to be the last in their 50-year-long career. However, due to the huge interest of millions of fans around the world, Deep Purple have decided to perform in selected countries yet again, and Serbia is one of them.

Deep Purple is considered to be among the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, they shifted to a heavier sound in 1970. Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the “unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies”. They were listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as “the globe’s loudest band” for a 1972 concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre, and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

The tickets will go on sale from March 29th at Štark Arena box office, all Ticket Vision sales outlets, and online at this web location
