Legendary Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson will release his autobiography later this year! The massively anticipated memoir, “What Does This Button Do?”, will see an October 19th release via HarperCollins.
We first heard that Bruce Dickinson was working on an official memoir in late 2015. Announced just months after Dickinson was given the all-clear in his tongue cancer battle, the book will tell the story of a metal titan who is notoriously tight-lipped about his personal life. A true Renaissance man, Bruce will detail his life as a musician, pilot, novelist, motivational speaker, world-class fencer and much more.
The book’s official description reads:
Now, for the first time, Bruce tells his story in his own words. In “What Does This Button Do?”, Bruce (a man who famously never gives interviews about his personal life) shares the most fascinating recollections, including his thirty years with Maiden, the early days, his childhood within the eccentric British school system, going solo, realizing his dream of flying jumbo jets and his recent battle with tongue cancer. Bruce Dickinson is so much more than the frontman of one of the biggest bands on the planet. A rock icon, a true renaissance man, Bruce has been, and remains, a man of legend.
Amazon details the book at a healthy 448 pages, so we know Bruce didn’t spare any essential detail. In fact, the singer wrote the whole book by hand, filling up seven A4 notebooks while on the road during Maiden’s Book of Soulstour.
