Black Old Scratch: Quarantine Story

by Ivona Bogner

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn. From the beautiful Florence, Black Old Scratch, speaks their Quarantine Story.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak ?
Hi Metal Jacket Magazine, Black Old Scratch are all alive!!! Ahahhahah…

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
Unfortunately we had to cancel the Live and Meet  & Great for our debut ep “Black On White” in late March and the participation in a local festival in early June.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
In this moment  the situation for the bands of any sound wasn’t at the top, now the covid 19 has contributed to breaking down the music scene.
Black Old Scratch want to look forward positively, hopefully it will be a starting to work  and it will be starting point.

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
Together with our Volcano Records  we’re sharing and advertising our EP “Black On White” and our official video on the web and on all the most important digital platforms.

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
Metalheads have Hardheads, we will get up stronger than before!!!

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
I think all of them!

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Always Black Old Scratch!!! Ahahhahhahha…  Belonging Joke, I listened to a bit of everything (any sounds)bands and sound, in my opinion it opens your mind to new solutions (musically speaking).

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most ?
Obviously normal life and daily habits, personal affections ,other band members and  all of my friends.

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
No I don’t have it: Black Old Scratch have spent time working individually on the composition / writing / ideas of new songs for the next album.

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
Thank you too from BLACK OLD SCRATCH –  Stay safe and the ROCK NEVER STOP!!!
