The band was formed in Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan in 1996. Over the years, they released 10 studio albums. The band name, Alkonost, is inspired by Slavic mythology. Alkonost presents the goddess of the land of the dead, pictured as half-woman/half-bird.

After they signed record deal with Metalism Records, although lyrics and album titles are primarily on native language, the album titles are available in English titles. Over the years, their popularity grew, so Alkonost performed in Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. They have a great fan base in Scandinavia and in the UK.

The concert in Zemun is great opportunity to present rich discography.

Alkonost will share the stage with bands Tamerlan and Ognjena kočija. This would be Temerlan’s  farewell concert, since Timur Iskandarov, Temerlan’s mastermind is leaving Russia in search for better life. At the other hand, Ognjena kočija will perform in Zemun for the first time.
