Alexander: Quarantine Story

by Metal Jacket

In Corona Corner, we are asking musicians how the outbreak has effected them, how did they adapt to the situation, what did they learn.  Kyle Alexander (voices, bass, sub synth) in front of Canadian Alexander speaks his story.

Hi! How are you doing during corona outbreak?
Very well, been working on building a new recording studio downtown in my city so that’s been exciting.

What have you cancelled/postponed due coronavirus?
My other band ZAUM had 7-8 festivals this summer like Metal over Russia (Moscow), Frantic Fest in Italy, Woodrock Festival in Portugal, etc etc.

How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands?
Has squandered the live and touring scene for now but has made extra room with no pressure for the creative phase, so it’s a silver lining, let’s just hope things get back to usual though!

How are you keeping your fans during this chaotic period?
We just released our debut ALEXANDER album titled I, so hopefully this will keep all your attention 😉

What will metal look like when we re-emerge from isolation?
Hopefully lots more creativity and straying from the expected.  But probably closer to the same.

Who will suffer the most after all: musicians, organizers promoters…
Venues probably, so many will never recover and will close – no support for them.  It’s a shame.

What is your isolation soundtrack?
Lustmord – Trinity

Besides gigs, what/whom do you miss the most?
All of my very dear friends all over Europe who I am missing so much.

Do you have any rehearsals during quarantine? If yes, how do they look like?
Not yet but next week I can tell you 😉

Thank you so much for your time. Stay safe!
